Eurigil 5000iu is utilized in medicine to positively affect ovulation in women and to support estrogen production. It is also applied in fertility treatments to facilitate ovulation.
Male bodybuilders have used Eurigil 5000iu for an additional significant purpose. HCG closely resembles the amino acid structure of Luteinizing Hormone (LH). LH is typically generated in the pituitary gland and then released to the testes, where it influences the Leydig cells. The Leydig cells subsequently generate androgens like testosterone. This indicates that so-called natural bodybuilders have reported using HCG to enhance their endogenous (natural) testosterone levels. Some clinical studies suggest that an injection of 1500-2000 i.u. of HCG can elevate plasma testosterone levels by 200-300% over baseline levels. For individuals using highly aromatizing steroids, HCG provided a "partial" solution for restarting natural testosterone production either during or after cycles.
When exogenous (external to the body) androgens, such as steroids, are administered, the body's endocrine system may reduce (partially or entirely) natural androgen production to maintain homeostasis. This occurs because the hypothalamus detects excess estrogens from steroid aromatization (and, to a lesser extent, elevated androgen levels) and prompts the pituitary gland to decrease or halt the production of LH and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone). As a result, the Leydig cells in the testes stop receiving LH signals and subsequently reduce testosterone output. FSH down-regulation also leads to decreased sperm production. Consequently, the testes may shrink due to reduced androgen and/or sperm production, which can reduce libido. Many heavy steroid users reported experiencing temporary sexual dysfunction after their cycles.
What actions did men take regarding this issue? Eurigil 5000iu serves as a substitute for the LH typically produced by the pituitary gland, which stimulates androgen and sperm production in the testes. When injected at doses of 2000-5000 i.u. every 5 days for 2-3 weeks during or after a cycle, the testes began to regain function. This also led to increased total testosterone levels, and athletes often experienced some of their best gains during this period.
It also contributed to keeping the "significant other" quite pleased! Administering HCG starting in the final week of a steroid cycle and continuing for an additional 1-2 weeks post-cycle helped normalize testes function, thus preventing much of the typical muscle mass and strength loss experienced after a steroid cycle. However, these athletes were not entirely in the clear just yet. HCG has been used as a "partial remedy" for the shutdown of the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis (HPTA).
HCG only "replaces" natural LH. The hypothalamus and pituitary aspects of the HPTA still do not perceive sufficient reasons to produce gonadotropins or to restore normal LH/FSH synthesis. Consequently, discontinuing HCG might lead to another decline. However, remaining on HCG for over 3 weeks without a break of at least a month between HCG cycles could result in permanent gonadal dysfunction or a desensitization of the Leydig Cells.
